curious but scared: journaling, especially in broad strokes of past included, ends up looking llike a long list of messed up stuff, medical and otherwise. 😞 "positive and empowering light" has me curious.
anyone with similar reservations that can weigh in? ❤️🩹

I have just finished writing my 'journal' and I feel amazing about it.
I reached for this game in the middle of an ugly mental breakdown and I did not expect it to be of much help - as I've tried similar ideas before, but they never fit my particular needs - but here I was very pleasantly suprised.
I loved how the questions flowed and set up the end conclusion. I loved the visual of mirrors and windows, it really helped me immerse and calm down. The questions weren't invasive, but thoughful and well-formed. It was easy to choose the ones I felt comfortable with. It didn't feel like writing a prompt fill, it felt like talking to a good friend. Grounding, peaceful.
If someone is a bit lost in life or just in need of some reassurance - I would recommend this game wholeheartedly. It really helped me regain some stability in a very hectic moment of my life and I will definitely be coming back to it, even if just to read through the questions again.
And to the author: thank you. While I don't know you personally, you've indirectly helped me in a difficult time and I'm very grateful. If you continue making games I shall definitely be watching out for whatever you create in the future!
I Am is a 7 page journaling game that feels a bit like a meditation exercise. You are provided with a series of framed scenes and prompts, and you answers help carve out a space around who you are.
The overall tone is empowering, and while it does optionally have you confront some negative self-talk, it also comes with solid safety mechanisms and most of the prompts are positive.
I think I would recommend this to anyone who wants to feel better and more comfortable with themselves, and especially anyone who wants to do that quickly.
I just picked this up in the bundle and wanted to let you know I am very excited to try this. This is a great idea and you should feel excellent about it.
